Al Mataha/Labyrinth
2016Jardins des Arts de Marrakech
Marrakech, MA.
The average moroccan throws out approximately 16 tons of waste in a life time. this monumental installation illustrates that magnitude in the form of a labyrinth. the project acts as a metaphor - the walls of the labyrinth are a problem but they also hold to solution. Where there is a way in there must be a way out. one must just perceiver. Labyrinths have dead ends — so do the solutions put in place by the government to manage the rediculous waste management issue within morocco. This is a social commentary on how the society should not stop at a dead end. When faced with a dead end retrace your steps and find your way out.
